BIOGRAPHY
What do you know about me? Do you know that I am not a tattoo artist by trade but more of a business women! In late 2006 I met two people (Joel Hart and Austin Romesburg) that gave so much to the art of tattooing it influenced my life and became my path. Their energy, vitality, and immediate drop-dead knowledge to recognize what you are thinking, or saying, and willing to create were incredible.
It was those characteristics that kept me up late nights working on ideas, business plans, and theories. In combination with their knowledge, and trust in me to capitalize on their careers, and dreams this crew at Pens & Needles Custom Tattoo Company was formed! The primary purpose of this was to show off “great artist” who have created an entirely new wave of art without appropriate recognition. I pick not only artist whom I felt had the strongest and most unique voices; I also tried to come up with a representation of every different style in this crazy quilt of an art movement. It is commitment to developing craftsmanship and fearlessly pursuing one’s vision, no matter how outrageous or different to the mainstream it may be, that binds this group together across differences in gender, age, and ethnicity.
What I do is an autobiographical reflection! But the things I am reflecting on are universal, once you start heading down a serious path, there’s no turning back. You get a little taste of truth and its like an opening is created inside of you, always being and always becoming! I like to play with new palettes, experiment with unique elements, challenge my business sense, and improve on the quality of the durability and construction of this business.
